Dear Norm
Thank you for praying for my trip last week to Batam Indonesia. As I stated in the last email I was traveling there to speak at the Global Church Planting Network & Global Alliance for Church Multiplication. The purpose was to share Thailand's National Church Planting Strategy. In attendance were 200 Christian leaders from 42 nations.
After my presentation leaders from ten countries spoke to me about possibly helping them with their national strategies. I told them I would trust the Lord for guidance as to what I should do. However for Laos and Myanmar God did something unexpected.
I had spoken with a leader from Laos about the Harvest National Church Database and Mapping System we developed. He wanted my help in making it available to the Laotian Church. Ten minutes after he left an associate pastor of a large church from Kansas City approached me and said a primary reason for him to attend this conference was to meet with me. I was surprised and wanted to know why. He said his church wanted to fund the Harvest Database for Laos and Myanmar. They had church plants in these countries but wanted to bless the Body of Christ in these nations by making the system available to all denominations. I was stunned. Needless to say I am will be working on getting these two nations up and running.
By the end of this year Harvest will be used by the national church in Thailand, Cambodia and soon Laos and Myanmar. Pray for God's guidance regarding the other countries.
Please continue to pray for Mary Kay in Minnesota as she helps her parents. Its been difficult not being with her to help her with all the decisions she has to make.
Also please me in earnest pray for the leaders of the Thai Church Councils (CCT, EFT & TBC.) Pastor Nok passed away almost three weeks ago and they need to make decisions as how to move forward with the national plan without his leadership.
