"The difference between a dream and a vision is: A dream is just an idea. A vision requires a dream but has a plan and then action tied to that plan"

Dear Kirk,
As the Research Coordinator of the Thailand Evangelism and Church Growth Committee, our team has completed several research projects on various aspects about the Thai church. The purpose of these studies is to gain insight to the best way in reaching this nation for Christ. From these studies there are two major insights we have learned. The first insight is that Thai Pastors are by far the most productive group of people in making new disciples among the Thai people. The second insight is that Thai Pastors desire to have missionaries partner side by side with them to help them in their community, primarily by teaching English. By having a missionary partner with them in this effort they believe they could be more effective in their community.
For several years now I have dreamed with Thai pastors about how to make this happen; and we praise the Lord this dream has finally become a reality. After having discussions with leaders from Crossworld, a Kansas City based mission organization, this dream has been transformed into a vision. They agreed to find qualified Christian English teachers that would come to Thailand where we would connect them with Thai pastors.

Mary Kay, Terri, Karina & Lily |
We are excited that Karina Cortes and Terri Sauder followed God’s calling and joined this program. Just last week Mary Kay and I had the privilege of taking them to their place of service. They are serving in a small town called Nakon Thai in the province of Phisanuloke at the Anubanchantraphrakidtikoon School . They are working under Pastor Watchin and his wife June. They will be teaching spoken English to K-6 grade students. On Sunday they will be teaching children about the Bible at the Nakon Thai Church.
Please pray earnestly for these two young ladies. Their housing situation is much more basic than they are used to. The food, culture, and language are all very different. Pray that God would use them in a mighty way to reach this area for Christ.
Our desire is to have hundreds of English teachers come to work in Thai schools with the Thai church. As this program grows we would like it to be a significant part of the Thai National Evangelism and Church Growth Plan.
If you are interested or know of anyone who may want to give two years of their life serving the Lord in this way please contact Crossworld. These are paid positions by the schools, so you don’t have to raise as much support as missionaries typically would have to.
Blessings,
Dwight & Mary Kay Martin
