Waiting in line to be baptized
Dear Norm

Last weekend I had an amazing experience. I drove to Central Thailand to be with the FJCCA Church Planting team. On Saturday evening we went to H’wang Salit village in Phicit province to share the gospel. What surprised me this time was another church planter was leading the service not Pastor Somsak. I had never observed their other church planters in action and was concerned they would not be as effective as Pastor Somsak. Boy was I wrong. That night 23 people made a commitment to Jesus and a new house church was planted.

The FJCCA currently has 200 church planters and they are continually training more. By the year 2020 their goal is to have 1,000 church planters. Every day their church planters go and share the gospel in villages that have never heard of Jesus. Virtually every day a new house church is planted with at least 25 new believers.

On Sunday at 1 PM I had the privilege of giving away eight motorcycles that were donated by the Christian Motorcycle Association. Those receiving the motorcycles are church planters who don’t have a vehicle of their own. We praise God for this wonderful gift that will help these church planters be more effective.

Starting around 2 PM we then had an event never seen before in Thailand among the Thai people. Over 200 Thai believers where baptized at one time. I had the joy of baptizing over 40 and talking with each of them before being baptized. I asked each of them if they had thrown away their old beliefs and gods they worshiped and decided to follow Jesus only. Each one willingly said yes.  Praise the Lord!

Prayer requests.
Continue to pray for the FJCCA (Free in Jesus Christ Church Association).

Since January of 2017

  • More than 7,000 people have come to know Jesus.
  • Over 225 house churches have started.
  • Four new mother churches have been established (each overseeing 10-30 house churches) .
  • 200 church planters have been trained.

On July 9-11 we are traveling to Roi Et province to train 45 Thai Christians who are part of the Baptist (IMB), Mennonites and OMF organizations. This is the first time the FJCCA has trained believers that are not part of their group. Our desire is train Thai Christians from many denominations. Please pray that these Thai believers will catch the vision and are able to share the gospel as effectively in the areas where they live. We believe this is the best way to reach Thailand for Christ.

Pray for Mary Kay as she continues to care for her mother. She was not able to come back to Thailand with me in June because of her mother’s health. She is now planning to return on July 11. Pray that she will able to get everything arranged so her mother is taken care of properly.

Blessings in Jesus,

Dwight & Mary Kay Martin
