Dear Norm

Proof that a church planting movement is genuine and sustainable is if their success in evangelism and church planting is transferable to other Christian organizations. In July, the Free in Jesus Christ Church Association (FJCCA) had the privilege of training 40 Thai believers and 10 missionaries from the IMB, OMF, Mennonites and Covenant church in North East Thailand.

When those that were trained returned to their own province they started using what they learned. Most have had more success in wining people to Christ now than they did past. PTL!

This month we trained 30 members of the Mahachon Church, a Baptist church in Chiang Mai. This church has a great desire to lead people to Christ but has been frustrated in their lack of fruit.  Over the past five years they have attended virtually every evangelism training seminar given in Chiang Mai. These seminars are usually taught by people from countries such as the United States, Korea, Philippines, Singapore and India. Even with all this training they were not able to produce much fruit.

A big difference in the FJCCA’s evangelism and church planting principles is that they are contextually relevant and easily understood by Thai people. This is something someone from another culture would not be able to do.

After we finished training the Mahachon church members went out and produced fruit immediately. In one week they led over 100 people to Christ and they add new believers daily. (The names, information and pictures of the new believers have been entered into a database so they can be easily followed up.) This church has never experienced this type of success and are excited how effective they have become in leading people to Christ.

We return to North East Thailand on September 17 to give the next level of training on how to “Bring in the Fruit”.  This training is about how to gather the new believers together and start house churches.  In October we will give the same training to the Mahachon church.

While the FJCCA leaders are training other organizations, their own church planters are out every day leading people to Christ  They have  200 church planters with a goal of training 1,000 church planters by the year 2020.  It is an amazing thing to watch and a privilege to be a part of.  This movement is something Dwight’s parents longed to see over 40 years ago when they served in Thailand and Praise the Lord it is happening now.

Blessings in Jesus,

Dwight & Mary Kay Martin

To keep this movement fueled requires many resources such as Bibles, discipleship materials, gas money and help with training expenses

We would be thrilled if you could help fuel what God is doing in Thailand
