Dear Norm

October has been a very busy and rewarding month. On October 7th I (Dwight)  traveled to Central Thailand to be with Pastor Somsak who founded  the Free in Jesus Christ Church Association (FJCCA). He also leads the church planting movement that is sweeping throughout Thailand.  Last year he asked me to be one of the FJCCA leaders. It is a great privilege to be an integral part of what God is doing in Thailand through this movement.

Every month, on average, FJCCA church planters lead 750 people to faith in Jesus, 20-30 house churches are started, and one mother church is organized to look after these house churches.

The purpose of my trip was to “hone” my evangelism skills and meet with others interested in partnering with us.

To hone my evangelism skills, we went to two villages where the name of Jesus has never been heard. In these villages over 30 people accepted Christ and two new house churches were started.  PTL!

On Wednesday Rev. Anupharp, General Secretary of the Thailand Assemblies of God, visited us along with friends from the U.S.  They were interested in learning about the way we planted churches. At the end of the visit he told us this is truly the Thai way of leading people to Christ and wants us to train churches in his denomination. PTL!

On Sunday October 14 there was an event that has never happened before among the Thai people. We baptized 444 people, 362 adults and 82 children. It was a moving experience for me to see the joy they had in Christ as I baptized them.

The next day (Monday) we rented a van and drove for 16 hours to the southern province of Ranong to train members of the Anointing Church of Ranong. It was very enjoyable for me to watch Thai Christians get excited when they learn how to effectively share the Gospel for the first time.

I am confident this church will be used by God to transform Southern Thailand. Their goal is to reach 1,430 for Christ in the next 60 days. In January we go back to train them on how to gather these new believers into house churches.  (The next day as we were traveling home they had already led 18 to Christ!)

This week I travel to Bangkok to share the status of the church in Vietnam with 90+ missionaries and pastors in this country.

Using the church information folks in Vietnam have entered into the Vietnam Harvest Church Database they will see for the first time the dark places where the name of Jesus has never been heard.

Quick summary: Only 8% of the villages in Vietnam have heard of Jesus.

Finally, on October 30 I talk with Christian leaders in the Philippines regarding installing a Philippines Harvest Church Database. Four major organizations in the Philippines have joined together to support the implementation of this database.

Since I was travelling most of October (and September) Mary Kay decided to go to Minnesota to help her parents. She returns on October 29. It will be good to be together again.  Thank you for praying for us and supporting us.  Without your partnership we would not be able to do what God has given us to do.

Blessings in Jesus,

Dwight & Mary Kay Martin

It requires substantial resources to fuel this movement so thousands of Thai people can finally hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Th
e FJCCA members  provide about 25% of the financial resources needed to keep the movement moving.
$20,000 more is needed per month to provide Bibles, discipleship materials, gas money and training expenses.
A mother church costs $50,000 to build for the land and buiding supplies.
FJCCA members provide the labor.

PLEASE  PRAYERFULLY CONSIDER BEING PART OF WHAT GOD IS DOING IN THAILAND?  We need your partnership.
