New believers in Jesus even during Covid

Discipleship Covid Style

Dear Norm

Thailand has been going through its worst wave of Covid19 since April with over 20,000 new cases a day. All domestic train, bus, and air travel has been halted.  Car travel between provinces has been limited.

As a result, the FJCCA has been unable to share about Jesus in new villages since April.  However, we can still go to villages where we have shared about Jesus before the slowdown because we have an established realtionship with the villagers. As a result, discipling new believers has continued.  We are also providing for their physical needs by giving rice to those in need.

As we go back to these villages even more people are hearing and believing in Jesus.  People are hurting and don’t know where to turn. We know that the answer is in Jesus.  In the first 13 days of this month (August) 363 people prayed to believe in Jesus.  PTL!

The FJCCA is committed to reaching every village in the province of Phichit with the Gospel of Jesus and establishing house churches in those villages.  At the beginning of this year there where 798 villages in Phichit that had never heard the gospel.  Now, only 200 villages remain.  We haven’t established house churches in all those villages but are working on doing so.  Our goal is to have a house church in every village in Phichit province by the end of the year.

You can follow the growth of this movement at https://bit.ly/3iKeeoj.  Each of the dots on the map are the GPS coordinates representing someone who believed in Jesus.  We have an application called “First Fruits” that allows us to keep track of these believers and follow their growth in the knowledge of Jesus.  We know their name, have their picture, location where they live and level of discipleship.  If you want to follow what is happening in just Phichit province visit this link https://bit.ly/2UkIAEt.

Pray requests.

Mary Kay and I plan to leave the US on  August 23.  Please pray for safety for our trip and that we don’t catch Covid19 along the way. We have had a wonderful time meeting with many of you while we were in the US.  After spending two weeks in quarantine, we should be home in Chiang Mai by September 10.

It will be difficult to leave our friends and family in the United States and especially leaving our little granddaughter Rosalie.

Blessings in Jesus,
