When Ministry Comes Full Circle:
 A Disciple's Encouragement

June 30 2025

Dear Norm

Reading the words from this social media post (shown below) from someone I have closely worked with for several years is deeply encouraging. It’s not often in life that we get to glimpse the fruit of our ministry through the eyes of those we’ve served, much less hear how a seed planted years ago has grown into a flourishing testimony of God’s faithfulness. To be honored by a fellow worker in Christ—someone who once looked on you from afar and now leads with passion and clarity—is one of the greatest joys a mentor can receive. It reminds me that our investment in others isn’t just for the moment, but for the future God is still unfolding.

Blessings,
Dwight & Mary Kay Martin

Looking back, I remember my younger days watching Pastor Dwight Martin in awe. Whether at church gatherings in Bangkok or beyond, I was struck by the fact that a foreigner could speak Thai so fluently. Wherever he went, people welcomed him warmly, recognizing his dedication as a missionary and a leader in Thailand’s Christian community. His heart was always with the Thai people, tirelessly reminding us that every minute, souls pass away without knowing Christ.

Fast forward nine years to 2017—our paths finally crossed in ministry. I had grown, now serving with my team at the Nakhon Sawan Free Church. When I heard that Pastor Dwight was coming to see our work and plans for our church, I was thrilled. However, our small setup lacked the grandeur he was used to. We had no large stage or professional equipment—just a borrowed laptop and TV for our presentation. When we finished, there was silence. No applause. We were nervous, thinking we hadn’t met his expectations.

Then came the unexpected. He said there was nothing to comment on—because what we presented aligned exactly with what he had envisioned all along. His own vision for Nakhon Sawan was that every district should have a church. And today, after eight years, that vision has come to life—every district now has a church! The final piece, The Takli Free Church, is in place.

From Pastor Dwight, I learned about excellence in service—his precision, diligence, and yes, his surprising love for rock music. But more than anything, his humility stands out. He never leads with titles, age, or credentials. Cultural differences never become obstacles. No barrier is too great for faith and vision.

His wisdom stays with us: Don’t just plan—run with the plan! Keep moving forward!

Thank you, Pastor Dwight, for your trust and partnership as we serve Christ together. This journey continues, all the way to Nakhon Phanom province (where you were born) and beyond—until the day our Savior comes!

May Jesus Christ bless you with strength, joy, and a legacy of faith that touches countless lives. Amen.
