Dear Kirk ,
As we write this letter our thoughts and prayers are with you as you deal with the tornadoes and flooding in the United States. We trust you and your families are all safe.
This month we have a praise and prayer item that we would like to share.
Praise
In January, just before our friends from the Church at Brookhills left Thailand to return from a short term mission's trip, we asked if they would pray that we would find a new office facility. The lease on our existing building was running out and didn't feel we should renew the lease. We were having too many problems with the building.
God answered our prayers in a wonderful way!
In February we found a piece of property that had a building on it that was only three years old. It was built to be a Japanese restaurant but it shut down after only one year because it didn't do well. Since then the property has been for rent. In many ways we feel God built this building for us because it fits our needs so well. We were able to move into it in April.
By looking at the pictures, you can see what God has provided. Besides the building, it has plenty of extra land where we can expand in the future. Our desire for this property is that it will be used for God's Glory for many years to come. So, in the lease agreement, we put in an option to be able to purchase the property. Our prayer now is that God would provide $150,000 over the next three years so that we can purchase it.
Prayer
Early Tuesday morning (May 10th) we will be driving down to Bangkok to attend the Thailand Congress on Evangelism. We have a booth at this event so we can share our data and resources with over 4,000 Thai pastors and leaders who will be attending. Bill Hybels, the pastor of Willow Creek Community Church, will be giving the keynote address on Thursday night.
On Wednesday, Dwight has been asked to share with the pastors the status of the Thai church. He will also be sharing information about how critical it is for pastors to train and encourage their church members to become disicple-makers. How by doing this and with the help of the Holy Spirit the number of Christians in Thailand will increase dramatically. Please pray for Dwight that he will be able to share clearly.
The conference starts on Tuesday evening and continues through Friday. Pray that this event will be used for God's Glory and that the pastors will return to their churches, blessed, motivated and encouraged.
Blessings,
