Last month when I visited Pastor Somsak and the “Free in Christ” movement in Phetchabun province he asked me to speak to his 60 church leaders and share with them the status of the Body of Christ in Thailand. To give them a burden for the lost in Thailand and inform them of the many areas where the gospel has not reached. Over the past 10 years I have spoken to many different groups on this subject, both in Thai and English. After I spoke to this group, however, they did something no other group has ever done.

Pastor Somsak said “Now that Dwight has shown us the great need let’s do something about it. I want the leaders from each “mother” church to get together and decide how many house churches you will start and how many people you will lead to Christ by time Dwight returns in 56 days”

I was thinking that since there were 13 mother churches represented maybe they would start 13 more churches. After they came back from their groups I was stunned! They established a goal to start 71 new house churches and lead 357 people to Christ.

The 56 days are up this Sunday and I will be traveling to Phetchabun with Bob Craft (from Reach a Village) to do more teaching. While there I will share with them that they have exceeded their goal! As of Thursday Oct 26 they have led 706 people to Christ and started 102 house churches.* Praise the Lord!

Please pray for us as we teach 120 church planters. Bob will be teaching (I will be translating) from the Bible using a book we printed called “The Gospels for Church Planters.” It is an inductive Bible study from the Gospels and Acts put in chronological order. He will be showing them what Jesus taught his disciples so they will go and do the same things He taught. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will move on these church planters so the gospel will spread even farther in Thailand.
