Dear Norm

We trust you are encouraged with these updates about what Jesus is doing in Thailand. Last Sunday (October 6) the FJCCA baptized 630 believers. Those who were baptized decided to give up on their former way of life and the “gods and spirits” they used to worship and follow Jesus. Everyone who was baptized has been a believer in Jesus for less than two years.

What was different about last week's baptism service compared to prior ones? This time believers from 4 to 5 villages were not able to come due to opposition from religious leaders

In one village in the district of Nong Bua, Nakhon Sawan province over 50 people were in a bus headed to the baptism service when a car stopped in front of the bus and did not allow it to go any farther. The person driving the car was one of the village’s religious leaders. She told them they couldn’t go because if they went nobody would make merit at the temple. Personally, we feel she did this out of fear for her job and position in the community. She knew that if they went, the temple would no longer receive money which meant she may not have a job.

We estimate over 800 people would have been baptized if everyone was able to come. This opposition didn’t take God by surprise. He has a better plan for the folks who couldn't make it this time.

Praise the Lord that Mary Kay returned safely to Thailand. She is just about over jet lag and is getting caught up on her work after being in the U.S for several weeks for her mother's funeral.

Continue to pray for Dwight as he travels with the FJCCA doing church planting training. Last week he was in Koh Samui in southern Thailand. This week he is speaking twice with pastors and Christians in Chiang Mai. Next week he will be training in a church in Nonthaburi, near Bangkok

Please continue to pray for Thailand's 9th Congress on Evangelism that is coming up in April 2020. 5,000 Christian leaders from all over Thailand are invited to attend. Our prayer is that this Congress will be the springboard for the gospel to spread to every village in Thailand by the year 2030. Over 95% of the villages in Thailand have never heard the Gospel Story!

Blessings in Jesus,
