Dear Norm
During these difficult days we want to thank you for how you have encouraged us. We are grateful for your prayers, financial support and for the messages of encouragement we received from many you. These are especially trying times and we want you to know we are praying for you as well. Especially with all the difficulties going on within the United States.
On our side of the world things are opening up. Thankfully Thailand has not been hit very hard by Covid19 Out of 67 million people we have had only 3,081 cases and 57 deaths. The government has been very strict with curfews, limiting of travel and what you can and can’t do. The downside is we don’t know when we will be able to travel to the US. International travel is difficult and returning to Thailand is even harder. The government has severely limited travel into the country. We are hoping things will improve by the third quarter so we can visit with many of you in the US.
During this time ministry is still proceeding but much slower. Due to government rules the Free in Jesus Christ Church Association (FJCCA) has not able to start new house churches. So, what they have done is to encourage the believers through social media and visit house churches when possible.
We do have a wonderful praise report to share. In April, our eSTAR Foundation received a miraculous grant from the First Fruits Foundation. The purpose of the grant was to purchase a van for the FJCCA to be used for leadership training. The FJCCA’s 2020 goal is to have 1,000 trained church planters/leaders. Even though things slowed down due to Covid19, this van will help the FJCCA still try to reach this goal. More than this, over the coming years it will be used to train church planters throughout Thailand. We are rejoicing in this amazing gift.
We have several prayer requests to share:
- As we mentioned in our last prayer letter, we have a new granddaughter, Rosalie. We are anxious to meet her and spend some time with her. We don’t know when we will be able to do this.
- On Monday, June 1, Dwight is having right knee replacement surgery. Please pray that the surgery goes well and that he heals quickly.
- Safety for our children. Our son Tim’s house is only a few blocks away from where much or the unrest was happening in St. Paul. MN. Our daughter is several miles away.
- Plans as we resume church planting activities, leadership training and when to schedule a large baptism service. .
- Much prayer is needed for the United States. The land needs to be healed and only Jesus can do this.
Blessings in Jesus,
Dwight & Mary Kay Martin
