Ministry Update from Dwight and Mary Kary Martin in Thailand

Dear Norm  
If you want to be encouraged by what God is doing in the lives of new Thai believers click on the one minute video shown above.  This is just one example of what God is doing in the lives of thousands of people in Central Thailand. We are amazed that we are privileged to be a part of this work of the Holy Spirit. We just joined what He was already doing.  
 
When people ask why this movement is successful we can summarize it in these six brief action statements:
  1. A clear-vision and plan that everyone supports.
  2. Hundreds of volunteer church planters that GO daily to villages making disciples (we are intentional).
  3. Clearly communicate the Gospel message in a way the local culture can accept and understand.
  4. Return weekly to disciple the believers in a home church.
  5. Use a database that tracks every believer and their discipleship progress.
  6. Establish a district church once every village has at least one house church.

Special Guests
We are grateful for all the ministry partners who have visited us to see what God is doing. Since Thailand "opened up" in July we have had guests from churches, ministries and foundations from around the world. Most leave praising the Lord and support this work by providing financial "accelerant" so we can go "farther and faster." Thank you, Jesus!
Asia Congress 2022

Please pray for Dwight as he as been invited to be a speaker at this Congress. This congress is hosted by the Lausanne Movement and is held on 17-20 October 2022. Pastor's from all over South Asia are coming to learn. To prepare for his presentation Dwight wrote a document explaining the "AFT's Biblical Church Planting Methodology."

Sheep Stealing

A major prayer request is for God to protect our believers from "sheep stealing". Currently we are dealing with a group that has been trying to steal believers from some of our churches. This group doesn’t share the gospel themselves, instead they come behind us and speak lies to our members to try and steal them.  This latest group is telling them they must receive the "Holy Spirit Fire” to be a true believer.  (When you do you will can do "amazing things") 

 

Last year we dealt with a Korean cult that contacted our churches telling them they would send them money so they could attend their "special training" to “convert” them into their "false" theology.  Groups like this don’t do the Great Commission and make disciples of their own. Instead they try to steal existing believers. Sheep stealing is a big problem in Thailand.

We teach our members how to recognize and be prepared for these "wolves in sheep's clothes".  Wolves come from surprising places.

Future Plans

Mary Kay is planning to go to the United States in January.. She is excited to be in the US for our grandaughter's, Rosalie, third birthday. If possible we would like to return to the US together after July for a short visit. Please pray for safety for Mary Kay's trip and for Dwight to be able have time away from his responsibilities in Thailand later in the year.
