Dear Norm
We are so grateful for your partnership in spreading the good news of Jesus Christ in Thailand. We pray that you will have a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year. We pray that 2024 will be a year of abundant blessing and reward for you and your loved ones.
As we look back on 2023, we are amazed by what God has done through this ministry. An important achievement is the number of people who heard the gospel for the first time. By December 14, 2023, 15,738 Thai people have responded to the gospel this year. There are still two weeks of Christmas outreaches so this number will grow even larger.
Even more amazing is that this year over 8,446 people have been baptized and publicly declared their faith in Christ. The short video above shows the latest baptism service on December 1, 2023, where 2,399 individuals chose to repent from their old way of life and follow Jesus. Please watch it and be encouraged by the power of the gospel.
The number of house churches continues to grow as well. As of the latest count, the AFT opened 1,368 house churches in 2023. We have reached every village in Phetchabun province and by April of 2024, we will open 7 new district churches to support these new house churches. We have also made significant progress in Nakorn Sawan and Khon Kaen provinces.
We are excited about the plans we have for 2024. Here are some of them:
• In January, Dwight has been invited to be a plenary speaker at a church planting symposium held in Singapore, sponsored by Asbury Theological Seminary.
• We plan to open 13 new district churches by April.
• We plan to finish reaching all of Nakorn Sawan province and four more districts in Khon Kaen province.
• We will start working in Chaiypum and Phitsanulok provinces.
• We will welcome three new church denominations into the AFT, who will partner with us in reaching every village in Ranong, Chumpon, Nakorn Pathom and Lampang provinces.
• We plan to conduct two more level 3 training seminars. One in March and the other in September with Dr. David Schroeder.
As you can see, 2024 will be a very busy and fruitful year.
We appreciate your prayers for the following needs:
• Pray for Dwight’s left eye. Though it is improving, he still can’t use it to read.
• Pray for our safety as we travel frequently between Chiang Mai and Phetchabun province. This is a six-hour trip on roads that are not the safest.
• Pray for our continued good health and strength.
• Pray for our children and grandchild. It is not easy to be separated from them.
• Please pray for Rajiroat, Pastor Somsak’s wife. She has been having heart problems. Pray that the doctors will be able to help her and that the Lord will heal her.
We are thankful for you and all of our ministry partners. Many of you have been part of this ministry for over 17 years and have faithfully supported us through prayer and financial support. You are an integral part of what God is doing in Thailand.
Blessings in Jesus,
Dwight & Mary Kay Martin
