This past year we have shared various elements about the Free in Jesus Christ Church Planting movement that we are part of. We have shared about the amazing numerical growth of new believers, large baptism services, the starting of new house churches and how this movement is multiplying by training other churches and denominations. In this prayer email we will talk about mother churches.

The FJCCA currently has 40 evangelism teams, made up of 5 or more church planters, from 17 mother churches. These church planters prayerfully and strategically go to villages that have never heard of Jesus and share the gospel. Right now, the FJCCA is planting three new house churches a day and by the end of this year the FJCCA will have started 800 house churches.

These church planters go the http://thaichurches.org website we developed and look for the unreached areas near them. From these maps they make plans to go every village in an unreached sub-district and share Jesus and start a house church there. When a house church is planted in all the villages in the sub-district (typically about 20 to 30 house churches) the FJCCA locates land and builds a mother church. This mother church serves as a central worship center and training center to strengthen the surrounding house churches.

We do this because we know there are still over 77,000 villages in Thailand that have never heard of Jesus. Thailand only has 6,062 churches and many are in villages with another church. This means after 190 years only 5% of the people in Thailand have heard the Good News
The FJCCA is changing this by intentionally going to these unreached areas. We are also teaching other groups to do the same thing. The FJCCA’s 10-20-year vision is to have a house church in every village and a mother church in every sub-district.

This last weekend Mary Kay and I had the privilege of being a part of the opening two new mother churches. One in the Than Thahan Church in Nakhon Sawan and the Thap Khlo church in Phichit province. The sub-district of Than Thanhan has 30 house churches and Thap Khlo had 27. So, it was time to build a mother church.

While we were with the FJCCA we went to an evangelism event in Wong Pong, Phetchabun and saw the birth of a new house church. Mary Kay had the honor of praying for a new believer and passing out gifts to the children
